STEx range extension of DNV type approval
The E2S Warning Signals range of STEx audible/visual signals and initiating break glass call points and push buttons now has additional models DNV type approved as standard. The STEx range employs premium 316L stainless steel enclosures enhanced with a chromate process and polyester powder coat finish to provide the ultimate durability and performance in the harshest of environmental conditions.
The STExS alarm horn sounders, featuring a choice of 64 internationally recognised alarm tones and sound level outputs of up to 127dB(A), and the STExB2X05 5 Joule Xenon strobe beacon, featuring low operating current consumption and automatic synchronisation, are now both DNV type approved to DNV-CG-0339 (2021) as standard.
The STExB2X10 10 Joule Xenon strobe, STExB2X15 15 Joule Xenon strobe and STExB2LD2 multi-function LED beacon are also available with optional DNV type approval. The STExJ2 Zone 1 & 21 junction box and STExCP8 range of initiating devices (BG break glass manual call points and PB, PT & PM push buttons) remain DNV type approved as standard.
All STEx products have been assessed by DNV as meeting the requirements of IEC 60945 Ed. 4 (2002-08) Maritime navigation and radiocommunication equipment and systems, achieving an IEC60945 location of ‘Exposed’ and also meeting the DNV rules for classification for ships, offshore units, and high speed and light craft to DNV-CG-0339 (2021).
Certified to UL, cULs, IECEx, ATEX and INMETRO standards for use in explosion proof applications designated as Zone 1, 2, 21, 22 the robust STEx range is the optimum choice for life safety system notification signalling and initiation in all offshore and near shore applications where highly corrosive environments are present.
