D1x explosion proof sounder and beacon achieve EN54 CPR, MED and DNV approval

The E2S Warning Signals D1xB2X05 explosion proof Xenon strobe beacon and D1xS1F explosion proof alarm horn sounder have achieved compliance to Construction Product Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 by successful testing to standards EN54-3 and EN54-23. Both products are also now compliant to the (MED) Marine Equipment Directive (EU) 2023/1667 and are Type approved to DNV standard DNV-CG-0339.

The D1xB2X05 Xenon beacon features a powerful automatically synchronised 5 Joule strobe with low current consumption of only 295mA and in rush limited to just 828mA at 24Vdc. The EN54-23 red and clear lens approved versions are also UL and ULC approved to UL1638 and CAN/ULC-S526 for private mode fire alarm applications.

The D1xS1F alarm horn features 64 alarm tone frequencies and 4 remotely activated stages/channels. The alarm tones are automatically synchronised with other D1xS1F alarm horns on the same notification appliance circuit. With a maximum sound pressure level output of 115dB(A) at 1 metre (106dB(A) at 10’) the D1xS1F is an effective audible signal for all fire applications yet current draw is only a nominal 185mA at 24Vdc and in rush is limited to just 815mA, ensuring multiple devices can be powered on one circuit. In addition to EN54-3 the D1xS1F is UL and ULC approved to UL464 and CAN/ULC-S525 for public mode fire alarm applications.

Both the D1xS1F and D1xB2X05 are UL approved to ATEX, IECEx, UL and cUL explosion proof and flameproof standards and employ a lightweight yet robust marine grade aluminium enclosure that features multiple cable entries. An ingress protection rating to EN60529 of IP66/67 and Type rating to UL50E/NEMA250 of 4/4X/3R/13 enables these next generation of audible and visual life safety signals to be employed in the harshest of onshore and offshore environments.
