In February 2010, an earthquake with 8.8 magnitude occurred off the coast of Central Chile effecting large parts of central and southern Chile. The earthquake triggered a tsunami which hit many coastal areas including the City of Penco with a population of approximately 40,000. As part of UNESCO’s and the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Department’s (ECHO) project to provide tsunami preparedness and risk reduction, a number of sirens and backup systems were installed to coastal areas to provide an early tsunami warning system.

E2S, a leading independent manufacturer of audible and visual signalling devices, and PACSCOM, a radio telemetry specialist, joined forces to supply John Sisk with a radio-based audible warning system to give open area protection on the Wembley Stadium construction site.

The Hootronic range consists of a variety of products all of which use innovative digital storage technology enabling high definition recordings of electro-mechanical signals to be replicated exactly. The class D amplification circuit results in extremely high sound pressure levels making them effective over large distances.

E2S launches the brightest ever hazardous location UL1971 LED fire alarm beacon

The new Haz. Loc. D2xB1LD3 LED beacon from E2S Warning Signals generates an effective candela rating of 82.1 cd under UL1971 test conditions, making it the brightest UL1971 compliant visual emergency signalling device from any manufacturer suitable for use as part of a public mode fire alarm installation for hazardous areas. The NFPA 72 compliant 20ms high intensity pulse generates light output equivalent in perception to a traditional strobe, but with ultra-low current consumption (150mA) and low in-rush.

E2S major on hazardous area integrated warning device assemblies at ADIPEC

E2S Warning Signals is featuring its new range of integrated signalling assemblies on Booth 8620, Hall 8 at ADIPEC, 11 – 14 November, Abu Dhabi. Providing system designers and installers with pre-configured solutions, the new E2S range eliminates the associated cost of on-site assembly operations whilst guaranteeing the connections and cabling between devices meet the relevant hazardous area approval requirements and ensuring all signals are fully tested and certified.

STEx 316 stainless steel signals - DNV approved

The 316L stainless STEx family from E2S – corrosion proof and DNV approved. The explosion/flameproof STEx family from E2S Warning Signals encompasses audible, visual and combined warning devices and manual call points, all employing 316L stainless steel enclosures. Designed for installation in the harshest of onshore and offshore environments where corrosion is a particular problem, the units are IECEx and ATEX approved for Zones 1 and 21 for use in hazardous areas containing both gas or dust. Extended certification and operational temperature ranges enable the STEx family to be employed in the most arduous of applications. Members of the STEx family are also DNV approved for on-deck marine use.
